The film details the preparation and delivery of Toi Tū Toi Ora: Contemporary Māori Art (December 2020 – May 2021) at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, which was the largest exhibition of contemporary Māori art in Aotearoa New Zealand.
All proceeds raised from the event will help Chelsea and the film team get to California and on to the Berlin EFM (European Film Market).
Tickets for the film screening are $50 + GST. This includes a glass of wine on arrival, a signed poster and a Q&A with film director Chelsea and exhibition curator Nigel Borell.
Following the screening there will be an auction of artworks kindly donated by artists who were in the Toi Tū Toi Ora Contemporary Māori Art exhibition. The auction is free to attend, but you will need to register in the link below.
Works generously donated by Shane Cotton, Emily Karaka, Reuben Paterson, Star Gossage, Taika Waititi, Charlotte Graham and more.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to support the storytellers and be lucky enough to pick up a piece of art from some of our most celebrated Māori artists. Tickets are limited.
With thanks to Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki and Tātaki Auckland Unlimited.
